In the hydraulics portion of this course you will be introduced to hydraulics, power unit operation, circuit connections, basic cylinder circuits, pumps, valves, motors, and schematic diagrams as they explore the concepts of pressure and flow through a hands-on learning approach. Friction, leverage, pressure, and controls will be explored in learning laboratory activities. Upon successful completion, you will be offered the opportunity to test for the National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) certification in hydraulics.
In the pneumatics portion of this course you will be introduced to pneumatics, power unit operation, circuit connections, basic cylinder circuits, pumps, valves, motors and schematic diagrams as you explore the concepts of pressure and volume/force through a hands-on learning approach. Friction, leverage, pressure, and controls will be explored in learning laboratory activities. Upon successful completion, you will be offered the opportunity to test for the NIMS certification in pneumatics.
