The session will provide an overview of Virginia History Day, a statewide social studies competition and an affiliate of the National History Day Contest, and show varied ways for using History Day methods and tools to enhance student content knowledge and skills acquisition through project-based learning. The session will also detail how History Day rubrics can be utilized as authentic assessments of History and Social Sciences skills SOLs.
History & Social Sciences Teachers (Grades 6-12) and Specialists, Instruction and Assessment Specialists, as well as Upper Elementary Teachers (Grades 4-5)
