In response to HB2344: Threat Assessment Teams, which requires
each public School Board to establish threat assessment teams similar to those required for Virginia's public institutions of higher education. The goal of the training is to provide guidance and training to schools and divisions without threat assessment teams and processes in place as well as those who have teams and protocols in place but have additional staff members who need to be trained. While many school divisions have voluntarily implemented threat assessment protocols, HB 2344 now mandates public school divisions to establish a threat assessment team(s) and collect and report threat assessment data.
