Special Notice: This session is open only to educators participating in the Regional Education Consortium. School Division ID required at check in. Pre-registration required.
Participants will learn the basics of providing a guided outdoor experience, including relevant historic and environmental information about the area they visit. Participants will meet the instructor on site at 8:30 AM to sign in and get ready for the launch. Participants will arrive back to launch site about 12 PM and depart by 12:30 PM. Participants must bring their own water, snacks, sunblock, appropriate attire & footwear, and any necessary medical items (epipen, insulin, etc.) There is limited parking at launch locations, carpooling is encouraged. There are no restroom facilities, participants are advised to stop at a gas station or other location to use their facilities prior to arrival in the morning. Participants are warned that the setting is wild and rustic with no amenities. The Tanyard Landing Road terminus is the launch parking area.
