This professional development session equips teachers with practical strategies to create emotionally and academically safe classrooms through clear procedures, intentionally unpacked learning standards, and explicit executive functioning supports. Participants will explore how predictable routines and transparent expectations reduce anxiety, strengthen self-regulation, and improve access to rigorous content, while learning to translate standards into student-friendly success criteria and to embed supports for skills such as organization, task initiation, time management, and self-monitoring. By aligning procedures with both academic goals and cognitive development, teachers will leave with ready-to-use strategies, a process for unpacking standards, and an actionable plan to implement executive functioning supports in daily instruction.

Targeted Audience:
K-12 Teachers, Special Education Teachers, ELL, Administrators

*Potential VA Teacher Licensure Renewal points = 2
