“Do These Strategies Make Me Look Engaged?” Using Total Participation Techniques to Increase Student Engagement in Your Classroom
After reading Total Participation Techniques: Making Every Student an Active Learner as a schoolwide PLC, teachers at Cople Elementary School read about and then incorporated some favorite engagement practices, as well as some new twists on practices. They found these techniques to increase student engagement in lessons on a daily basis. Through modeling and class participation and interaction, the presenters will highlight techniques in the book, including many that require little or no prep. We hope to inspire participants and introduce relevant classroom instructional practices that can be implemented during the coming school year.
