Basic Rider Course

This course coaches the fundamental skills of motorcycle riding and operation. It is not intended to produce experienced riding skills; it does provide the ENTRY-LEVEL skills needed by any new rider. Upon successful completion, a MSF card & DMV Completion Certificates are issued.

Please read:  Basic Motorcycle Safety Training Information The Basic Motorcycle Safety training course that you are registering for will be held at Rappahannock Community College. Please remember, you are not considered registered until you have paid the required fee. Participants may withdraw up to five business days before the class is scheduled to begin and receive a refund. No refunds are provided after this time. Class schedule: Friday 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Please remember that class begins promptly at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. You should plan to be here by 5:30 p.m. If you are not here at 6:00 p.m., the instructor will not allow you in the class and at that point there is no refund. (This is a Motorcycle Safety League of Virginia rule.) You must bring your valid driver’s license or learner’s permit in addition to your social security number to class. Following is the required riding gear you will need on Saturday and Sunday: Full fingered gloves (preferably leather) Glasses or sunglasses Sturdy, over ankle foot protection (boots are best) Rain gear (if needed) Long sturdy pants Long sleeved shirt or jacket If you have any questions about the equipment or course content, you may call the Motorcycle Safety League of Virginia at 1-888-826-7584.
