Antecedent based interventions (ABI) are evidence-based and proactive strategies designed to reduce the occurrence of interfering or problematic behavior. ABI focuses on modifying the environment and changing elements that could trigger an interfering behavior. Implementing ABI strategies is the best way to prevent behavioral issues from occurring. This session will discuss ABI strategies within the multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) framework.
